It's Memorial Day Weekend and there is a good chance you will be standing in line. It's also 90 degrees outside and your kids will be cranky...so you will be cranky.
Standing in line is the perfect opportunity to make friends (at least for the rest of the time you are standing in line.) I was at a beer festival last night and was in line for a beer and chatted up several people who also enjoyed laughing with (ok, AT) the lady who was enjoying the vibrating chair/foot massager a little too much. I also made friends with a nice kindergarden teacher who didn't read the sign to figure out how the portable hand wash station worked. (Summer break started so I guess she was done reading.)
Get some exercise! A former co-worker of mine would challenge her daughters to see how many rail push-ups they could do while standing in line at Disney World.
Make up stories about other people. Some call it gossip. I call it, story telling.
